November 13, 2004: Hammerheads, Evansville, IN

It seems like there were lots of funny stories that tied into this show.

Well, f
irst of all, Lisa (Joey's wife at the time), for some reason or another, decided or was invited or decided once being invited to come along on our first show in the uhh...great?...uhhh...sure...the great state of Indiana!  Having a female (especially Lisa) in the van all the way there and back made for some very interesting conversation; which seemed to lighten Sam's mood quite a bit.  I don't really remember much of what we talked about...but it seems like the topic of blow jobs came up...uhhh....anyway...

These, as you may
recall, were the 'glory days' of myspace.  And as a perfect example of how cool it was back then, I invited a girl I found (browsing the Evansville crowd) to the show.  Well, as it turns out, she ended up being our bartender!  When I got to the venue, she was like, "I met you on myspace and I was like 'Mutherfucker!  I'm gonna be your bartender!'"  Needless to say, I found it quite endearing that this girl I never met would refer to me as 'mutherfucker'.  She was kinda cute too.  But, alas...

Seeing as how half of the band lived in St. Louis and half in G
reenville, the only time we got to spend with one another was either at practice or at a show (and before and after, of course).  So, before the show, we stopped by a restaurant next door and talked for a while.  I don't think Paul was there, but Lisa was.  I vividly remember talking (and eating quesadillas) about what we wanted our next album to sound like.  Joey was convinced that we needed to get a pizza cutter sound in there somewhere...because the pizza cutters at Mario's Pizza sound awesome, apparently.  Sam and I, being the noise freaks that we were, felt it needed to be noisy.  We came to the conclusion that it should be kind of cluttered.  How did we do?

Anyway, we played the show and kicked ass.
The October played too.

Possible set: Tick Tock, Death, Crow/Love/Sunday Breakfast, Middle Man, Broken Machine, I Miss You, The Way (I'm Supposed to Be)
